Events on December 26, 2008

Shawn and Carl drove to Laura's house in attempts to get the remainder of Shawn's belongings. From what happened, additional police were called. Laura assaulted a police officer. Shawn was only able to get a few of his clothing. Laura wouldn't allow Shawn to get any of his skateboarding things or his bike.

We ended up getting a nice complete skateboard for Shawn at a killer deal. We also got him a new mountain bike for an even better deal...something we just couldn't pass up.

Pray for Shawn. He wants nothing to do with his mother. Pray for Laura. Pray for us that we can find honest ways to forgive Laura.

It's Halloween Time at the Wilson Home!

The kids had so much fun trick-or-treating. Parker still wasn't feeling 100% better and hacked up (threw up) mucus in the middle of the road. As soon as he did, he looked at me and said, "Mom, I want some more candy." We got him home right away, though we could not stop laughing. We missed Shawn - he was off playin football sectionals. Here are some pictures of that night:

Results of Carl's MRI

Carl and I both spoke with the VA about his test results. All his lab work came back normal. His Prolactin levels are where they need to be. The test on his kidneys came back normal. Last, the test on his MRI showed the tumor is still present on his pituitary gland, though it appears to have shrunk. This is a good thing. We still don’t know why Carl’s experiencing some of the same symptoms…perhaps it’s because the tumor isn’t completely gone. But, this is a good report. Next, he has to have a glucose test. We’ll let you know the results of that when we find anything out. That should be in the next few weeks. Praise God!

Update on the Wilson Family

CARL
We haven’t received information back as to Carl’s MRI. It’s likely we won’t hear something this week. Otherwise, he’s fine.

ANDI
I’m fine! There’s nothing going on with me. I love my job. I’m busy all the time. I’m down to two jobs and maybe to one soon (probably not if I have anything to do with it).

SHAWN
He’s over the flu and working to raise his grades back to an acceptable level. He’s doing really great. He’s so smart. His attitude has been awesome. I don’t think he’s playing football, anymore. I think he’s just playing the mascot role. He’s about 6’ tall now. It’s interesting trying to lecture someone taller than you (maybe I could call Dad for suggestions on how to handle those situations). Shawn, to the last of my knowledge, has a sweet girlfriend. I guess it’s going pretty well.

PARKER
He’s so smart. We have parent-teacher conferences next Tuesday. I’m excited to see what the teacher has to say. All we ever hear from people is how smart he is. He wants to know how everything works. He’s learning Spanish and wants to be a paleontologist when he grows up. Well, that or Spiderman. But, since he can’t climb walls. He’s decided upon settling for a paleontologist. Oh, and he has about five girlfriends – Madeline, Vicki, Isabella, Bella, and Shannon (a fifth grader). He’s already playing the field (thanks, Carl).

KATE
She rocks. She’s also high maintenance…mega high maintenance. She won’t get out of bed until you come get her. She’ll walk right past her drink, sit down, and then ask someone to get it for her. Don’t worry, both Carl and I are suckered. We try, but don’t get too far. Oh, and her daycare provider told me this morning that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree (referencing Parker). Shawna (daycare provider) asked Kate to pick up her toys. She responds with, “I need a big, strong boy to help me pick them up.” Good thing Jonah was nearby. He rushed to her side and helped.

Who's in Kate's Room?

I spoke with my sister-in-law about how Kate keep ssaying she doesn't want God in her bedroom. She reminded me about a time when I bent over to kiss Kate good night and someone or something... pinched me. I swung my hand around and yelled at Carl. But, there was no one there. We don't know what's going on or who's in the house. I don't think they're threatening. I've felt other things before. once, someone tapped me on the shoulder when I was in the kitchen.

God in Kate's Room

Something's going on in Kate's room. When she lies in her bed, her head faces the east window. To the right of the east window in the corner of the room, Kate sees someone. It's been happening now for about three nights. Someone is in the corner of Kate's bedroom.

We don't see anything. But, each night, Kate tells us she doesn't want God her room. Carl and I ask what God looks like. Kate says he's strong. He's wearing a shirt and he smiles with one side of her mouth raised slightly higher than another.

Last night, we completely covered both of her windows. Our first fear was someone was coming to her window. That's not the case, though the windows remain covered. Kate grows frantic. She is nearly paralyzed with fear. She cries and screams until she breaks a sweat.

We don't know what to do. She is unable to go to sleep at night. she insists God is in her room and she doesn't want him there.

Parker's First Day of Kindergarten

Not my little baby
Growing up so tall
Not long ago, I held him
When he was so small

Today is such a big day
An exciting one, you see
A day for cheers and brand new friends
Yet, a sad day for me

I’ll stand aside and let him grow
And watch him wave good-bye
And smile as tears race down my cheeks
No, he won’t see me cry

Not my little baby
He’s growing up so fast
Looking to the future
As I hold to the past
Such a little man

Kate and Parker getting ready to walk to the bus stop

See...I didn't cry...here.
